Peoples Bank was founded in 1910 by a small group of farmers & merchants in the small town of Altenburg, MO. Altenburg is a small German community that was settled in the mid 1800’s located near the Mississippi River. While the bank has weathered many trials of our country including the Great Depression, WWI, WWII, high interest rates of the late 1970’s and the Great Recession we owe much of this success to our loyal customers. In 1993 Lincoln County Bancorp acquired Peoples Bank with further expansion to follow in 1997 when the Jackson, MO branch opened its doors.
